Heaven is High and the Emperor is Far Away

A video documentary project that will explore the diversity of China and look into the ancient phrase ‘Heaven is High and the Emperor is Far Away’. Beijing is the seat of power in China and the home of the ‘Emperor’, but in the far flung corners of the Middle Kingdom, does the power and influence of the capital have a hold over the people? The documentary will investigate how religion and culture collide in the crucible of modern China. This collaborative project is shooting at the moment.
